Like all great love stories begin, Kendall and Trey don’t remember meeting but are 99% sure that it was at a volunteer leadership meeting at 6:00 am (aka the middle of the night if you ask Kendall). For the next year and a half, meetings like these would be the backdrop to Trey and Kendall getting to serve alongside each other at a young adult's ministry in Dallas called The Porch.

TREY: "After serving together for a few years at The Porch, I had seen firsthand how people were drawn to her and how she approached life with an openness and surrender that was unique. After being nudged by enough of our friends (too many to count, ha!), I called Kendall and asked her on a date."

KENDALL: "Going on a first date with Trey, I knew he was laid back, hard-working, and beloved by our mutual friends. It wasn’t until a few months into dating that I realized that he could ~almost~ out quote me at “New Girl”, is always the last to leave a party, and was very quickly becoming one of my best friends."

TREY: "I had watched Kendall from afar show up, be faithful, and care for women at the Porch. Soon after, I quickly had a front-row seat to see for myself that she was also a blast and easygoing too. That led to a 2 year pursuit and after spending every Monday night together for the past two years I realized, "This girls got it."

KENDALL: "As we took impromptu trips to Nashville, went to Six Flags in the heat of the summer, and toured downtown Dallas via plane, I realized that Trey was the partner in crime that I wanted by my side for all of the adventures to come. After a year of watching him be faithful through easy and hard seasons, I knew Trey would be a Godly husband dedicated to loving me as a by-product of his love for the Lord. I can’t wait for my steady, selfless, sassy fiance to become my husband!"

TREY: "Throughout the past two years, we went through job changes, health hardships, and lots of transition. After going through pre-marital counseling, going on trips together, and spending time with each other’s families, I knew this was it. This was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with."

We cannot wait to celebrate with you all so soon. We are deeply grateful to our people for playing such a crucial role in the story that God is writing in and through the future Mapes family. See you in July!
